Temporary signing links that expire when you say so

A temporary signing link is a web address that opens one specific agreement for a limited time. In SecureSign Portal you set the window when you send it — anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days — and the link stops working when that window closes. You can revoke it earlier at any time, and you can see how many times it has been opened and when it was last viewed.

What you can actually do

Choose the expiration window

Set access from 24 hours up to 30 days when you create the link. The deadline is part of the send, not an afterthought.

Revoke access manually

Changed the terms, or sent it to the wrong contact? Deactivate the link and it stops opening the document.

See view counts and last viewed

Every link records how many times it was opened and the most recent view, so 'did they see it?' has an answer.

Optional expiration reminder email

A reminder can be sent before the window closes so a pending agreement doesn't quietly lapse.

No recipient account

Clients open the link, read the agreement and sign in the browser. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.

Recorded in the activity trail

Link created, viewed, signed and expired events are timestamped in the contract's history and can be exported to CSV.

How the workflow runs

  1. 1Send the agreement through a link with the expiry window you choose.
  2. 2See when it was viewed, and how many times.
  3. 3Track its status from sent to viewed to signed.
  4. 4Collect the signature in the browser, with consent captured and timestamped.
  5. 5Let access expire — or revoke it yourself the moment it's no longer needed.

Questions people ask

How long can a signing link stay active?

You choose the window when you create the link, from 24 hours up to 30 days. When the window ends the link stops opening the document.

Can I cancel a link before it expires?

Yes. You can revoke any active signing link from your workspace at once, which immediately stops further access through that link.

Does the recipient need an account?

No. The signer opens the link in a browser, reviews the agreement and signs. There is no account to create and no software to install.

Can I tell whether the client opened it?

Yes. Each link records a view count and a last-viewed timestamp, and views appear in the contract's activity history with a timestamp.

What happens if the link expires before they sign?

The link stops working and the contract stays in your workspace unsigned. You can issue a new link with a new expiration window.
